COMPATIBILITY

The Audiophilleo1 and 2 are compatible with Windows, OS X, Linux, and iPad iOS 4.2.

The Audiophilleo is one of the few USB-S/PDIF processors that works seamlessly with the native USB drivers in all common operating systems, and is the only asynchronous USB device that uses standard Linux drivers. The default Windows XP, OS X, and Linux drivers support up to 192 kHz, 24 bits; for Windows Vista and Windows 7, 8, 8.1 & 10, just download and  install our custom driver if you use sample rates above  96 kHz.

On Windows, popular media players such as foobar2000, XMPlay, and J River Media Center (JRMC) all work well, and you may choose between WASAPI, WASAPI Event Style or ASIO4ALL output modes depending upon your system configuration. WASAPI is a good choice for most users. When using ASIO4ALL, set kernel buffers to 4.

Minimum computer requirements:

  • Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, or 10
  • OSX 10.5 or later (10.6 is not required)
  • iPad iOS 4.2 or later; requires the iPad Camera Connection Kit and an inexpensive, powered USB hub. The iPad is currently limited to 44 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates, 16 bits only.
  • Ubuntu 9.x or 10.x and up, or equivalent. Because the USB audio drivers in various Linux “distros” are similar, all should work.
